Overall, the number of pupils enrolled in humanities has drastically decreased whereas, students enroll in medicine has increased over the period. Students choosing science course has remained same for 60 years.
The humanities course has shown very different trends among other subjects. The popularity of it was at the peak in 1960 at 45% which, has remained stable for around a decade. After, that a significant fall in numbers has been seen to 7% in 2020.
Medicine was the least popular in 1960 at only 20% of enrolls. This figure has boosted moderately till 2000 ( around 35%) but, fell to 30% in 2020. The enrollments in the science field have remained stable over the period. Starting at 30% in 1960, which has slightly fallen to around 25% over the next 40 years but, has returned to the same level in 2020.
