The graph compares the percentage of population in Iceland divided by age for every 10 years between 4 periods from 1990 to 2020. Generally speaking, the majority of them were middle aged people. Looking at the graph, middle aged people had been dominating the region for decades. It increased steadily until 2010 then experienced a high jump in number in 2020. It started from just above 30% and peaked at just under 50%. On the other hand, they who were in the 65 and over group has been fluctuated through all the decades without any dramatic changes even though they ended up higher. It began with roughly 13% and finished with approximately 15%. As for the two youngest age group, there were some similarity with on their pattern. Both of them started high followed by a step back pattern although the youngest group didn't experience a plunged as drastic as the 15-24 years old individual, which ended up with less than half of the starting number.
