The column graph depicts the percentage of commuters used the various mode of transportation namely, car, train, tube and bus in the years 1960, 1980 and 2000. Observing the details, just under 20% of people used to travel by train in 1960; while, the number of people increased significantly by just over the 25% in 1980. However, this figure showed a declined in 2000 and accounted for around 23%. Moreover, the percentage rate of commuters for tube transportation showed fluctuation. In 1960, approximately, 26% citizens traveled by tube; whereas, it fell down by around 22% in 1980. But in 2000, there was a slight growth in the usage of tube mode and reached at exact 25%. Furthermore, car became more popular among the people in the given period of time. This mode of transportation followed upward trend. Almost, 7% commuters used this mode in 1960; while, it rose dramatically after two decades by 23% and in 2000, just under the 40% citizens used to travel by car. By contrast, buses lost the popularity. The percentage decreased from 38% in 1960 to 15% in 2000. Overall the usage of car gained popularity; whereas, the transportation mode of buses became less in London in the years 1960, 1980 and 2000.
