The line graph provides information about the day to day utilization of the three different food spreads in a country between 1981 to 2007. Daily consumption per person is measured in grams. Overall, the usage of margarine and butter spreads show a significant drop over the given period whereas low fat and reduced spreads appeard to have an increasing trend. At the start of the period butter is the most popular spread and replaced by margarine from 1991 to 2001 while low fat and reduced spreads turned out to be the most widely used spread in the succeeding years. In detail, butter was the most picked spread having approximately 140 grams per day per person consumption in 1981 followed by margarine with 90 grams in the same year. However, the consumption of butter peaked at around 160 grams in 1986 and drastically declined to 50 grams in 2007. Furthermore, the usage of margarine went down to 80 grams and showed some slight fluctuations from 1986 to 2001 until it markedly decreased to 40 grams in the year 2007. By comparison, the consumption of margarine is twice as much of the usage of butter recorded in the year 1986. On the other hand, daily consumption of low fat and reduced spreads started on the year 1996 at around 10 grams and sharply increased to 80 grams in 2001. Six years later, it slightly fell to nearly 70 grams in 2007 and named as the most used food spread in that year.
