The figure shows the consumption of four types of meats, including beef, lamb, fish, and chicken, for each person in one week in European countries from 1979 to 2004. From an overall perspective, lamb ad beef usage decreases sharply, and fish consumption falls gradually over this period. In contrast, people's tendency to use chicken grows up. The graph illustrates that beef consumption ranks first in 1979 with 220 grams per week per person. Meanwhile, fish with 60 grams per person per week has the lowest rate. The usage of lamb and chicken is approximately equal, 150 grams, in this year. As the line graphs display, beef and lamb consumption fall dramatically after some rise and down and their usage rate become 110 and 80 grams per person per week respectively in 2004. On the contrary, people eat more chicken, and its usage rate gain 255 grams per person per week and ranks first. The fish consumption has a slight decrease and has the lowest rank in 2004 like 1979.
