The graph below illustrates the amount of spread that was consumed from a period of 26years from 1981 to 2007. unit measured in grams. Overall, it has been demonstrated clearly in the graph that butter was popularly used over the years before the production of margarine. Butter started its increased from 1981 at 140 grams in 1981 then reached its peak at 160 grams and fell to 50 grams in the final years. Likewise, margarine spread was eaten at 90 grams in 1981 before it gradually begin to flunctuate from the year 1986 to 1996 before dropping to 40 grams in 2007. On the other hand, the intake of low fat and reduced spread started fully in 1996 at about 10 grams. This figure rose to 85grams in 2002 before dramatically falling to 70 grams in 2007
