The chart illustrates the figures of immigration, emigration, and net in the UK over a period of 9 years. It is clear that immigration rate was significantly higher than the others and these all figures had considerable variations. In 1999, about 450 thousand people came to live in the United Kingdom and this number continued to increase in the following stages, whereas the number of net had a slightly fall from about 170 thousand in 1999 to 150 thousand in 2003. In 1990 - 2001 period, the figure of people who came out to like in the UK decreased minimally, however, in the next stage, it rapidly rose, at about 460 thousand in 2002. The number of people came to live in Uk peaked at around 580 thousand in 2004 and the figure of the UK emigration reached the highest point at approximately 420 thousand at the end of the period. Generally, both immigration and emigration rates basically rose, despite some fluctuations while the figure of net experienced a downward trend, fell by about 100 thousand from 2004 to 2008.
