The graph below shows how elderly people in the United States spent their free time between 1980 and 2010.

The line graph compares the leisure time consumed by the older generation in the United States from 1980 to 2010. Overall, it is clear that hiking, reading, and surfing rose with some fluctuations, and watching tv fell. However, spent time on theatre fluctuated. As the graph shows, the activity of hiking increased rapidly started from 30% in 1980, and ended at 80% in 2010. Regarding theatre, it was stood at 50% in 1980; it decreased steeply to 30% in 1990. Then, it increased gradually and reached around 45% at the end of the period. In terms of watching tv, it uplifted steadily and witnessed at 70% in 2000, followed by a slight decline and reached about 65% by the end. With regard to reading, it soared by 10%, but this number fell to 20% in 2000. Afterward, the figure plunged to 60% at the end. The internet surfers rose to about 15% before witnessed shoot up to 50%.
