Overall, there was a decrease in the amount of farmland while the number of buildings was on the rise. Some places including post office, bridge were kept while other places were then rebuilt or replaced with new contructions.
In the year of 1930, shops and the post office were located along River Stoke and the primary school was built on the opposite side. However, in the next 80 years, only the post office remained while the shops were totally disappeared. Besides, primary school was then rebuilt and became bigger in size.
Before, farmland accounted for a large proportion of Stokeford’s land but then was cut down in 2010 by the construction of new houses in the village. Garden sited near the primary school was converted into retirement home in 2010.
