Some interesting data concerning the preference about a selection of leisure activities of two groups of Australian children, are revealed in the graph. The children are grouped for sex and the age band analysed is 5-14. The most significant fact is that, beside watching tv or videos, that was the activity with the highest appreciation(100%) and it was at the same level both for male and females, all the other hobbies shows a different likelihood between the groups.
Moving to a more detailed analysis, three activities engaged more boys than girls, that are, in descending order, electronic or computer games (80%), bike riding ( little above 70%) and skateboarding or rollerblading (approximately 40%). As regard for girls percentages, these same three activities display the same downward tendency at a 60%, a bit under the 60%, and almost a 30% respectively.
Lastly art and crafts is the only hobby that witnesses a greater participation of females at an approximately 60% as opposite to the male one at a 30%.
