Presented is the table illustrating the changes in the average distance in thousand miles per person by various means of transport for a duration of 10 years starting from 1995 with predictions to 2015. As transparent from the statistics, the average distance per year by air and rail underwent a significant increase while the others declined gradually. All modes of travel are anticipated to take an upturn throughout the 20-year period with the exception of bicycle and bus. In the 20-year duration, the figures for bus and rail remain highest. The average distance per year by bus has followed a gradual drop, while the another one has recovered dramatically. Indeed the mileage covered by bus was the highest in 1995 which was 56, and the one by rail ranked in second place in the same year but is estimated to dominate in 2015, which will be 60. As regards other figures, the trends followed have been irregular. While average distance by air and motorbike starting the period being 2 and 5 thousand miles, respectively, and have experienced a steady rise, the one by bicycle remains the lowest with 2 thousand miles in 1995 and 2015 and 1 thousand mile in 2005.
