Overall, the life cycle of silkworm consists of a serie of changes including a period of time developping inside a cocon. In regard to producing silk cloth, 4 stages are needed from the selection of silk thread shells to the final step of coloring. Life begins with a egg, which is laid on a leaf, then the silkworm larva takes 10 days to hatch and come out of the egg. During 4 to 6 weeks, silkworm larva grows up eating mulberry leaves, and starts producing silk thread to make its shell, which is transformed within 3 to 8 days into a cocon where the larva remain developping for exactely 16 days. At the end of this stage the larva transforms into an adult moth and the life cycle starts again. when it comes to producing silk cloth, the selected silk thread is put onto a large container to boil with water, then 300 to 900 meters of thread is unwinded before being twisted. At the final stage of the process, threads are colored and weaved.
