The given diagram shows the working mechanism of the hydroelectricity power station to generate electricity. Observing the picture, it is noticed that different operation is performed in day and night. During the daytime, water is released from a high-level reservoir to a low-level reservoir in order to generate a current, whereas at night the process is reversed. To begin with, water is collected through different sources in a high-level reservoir using the dam. Under sunlight, water is released via a narrow tunnel, resulting rotation of a turbine. Later on, stored electricity is distributed to consumers through different powerlines. All these operations are performed during the day. During the night, water is reverted back to a higher-level reservoir through the same tunnel. This reverse produce is termed as pumping where a turbine plays the major role to push water back. .
