The given bar graph illustrates the changes in the proportion of house owners as well as renters in England and Wales from 1918 to 2011 pebNw
The given bar graph illustrates the changes in the proportion of house owners as well as renters in England and Wales from 1918 to 2011 Overall, it is crystal clear that the rate of house ownership experienced an upward trend while the opposite was true for the figure for accommodation renting families in the period given. In addition, there were more renters than homeowners in the first half whereas the reverse was accurate in the second half. It can be seen from the chart that the percentage of households in rented accommodation was four times greater than that of house owning households in 1918, with its value about 76 percent. After that, it dropped significantly and remained unchanged until 1953. However, the figure for house renter decreased dramatically before rising slightly, with its value being roughly 36% in 2011. In 1918, the minority of families in England and Wales possessed houses when their percentage was roughly 22%. Then, it went up by nearly 10 percent and tended to remain stable at roughly 32% until 1953. However, the rate of resident purchasing houses climbed significantly and reached a peak at approximately 70% in 2001 before decreasing slightly in 2011.
