The line graph illustrates rapid growth in the consumption of renewable energy in the USA between the period of 1949 and 2008. The total energy usage overtime has risen since 1949 until 2008. During this period wood and hydroelectric power energies are the main source of energy in the USA and the consumption of these renewable energies has increased after 1949 (hydroelectric power and wood until 1996 and 1989, respectively). In 1981, Biofuels energy began to be utilised, which rose rapidly with a quadrillion Btu per year. Ultimately, wind power also started to be consumed since 1900s, however it gradually increases its usage. The combination of Biofuels and wind power consumption reduced the usage of hydroelectric power and wood energies after (1996 and 1989, respectively).
