The two comparative diagrams reveal how Lakeside area has undergone changes in 9 years from year 2000. In general, over the period of 9 years, although the area went through a considerable change regarding its contents as some of them have either been relocated or entirely built into a different establishment, there have not been any territorial changes in the area. To begin with, only one among the 3 previously present residential areas can be seen in the year 2009 where one of them was replaced with a shopping centre while the other was removed from its area during the expansion of industrial complex which now accommodates considerably more factories. Similarly, Derelic warehouse was replaced as Car Park area was created in its place while offices building and a University took over Old Town's land. Although school area didn’t experience any changes, cinema was built in land of previously located art centre. Another one of the most noticeable change is that the lake has now been turned into a pond and there is no presence of any hills around the lake after 9 years.
