In general, hydroelectric station operates round the clock and reversible turbines plays a key role. During day time it is used to operate generator and act as water pump during night time to push water back to dam.
The very first process is to collect the river water in high-level reservoir uisng a dam. Water flow is controlled by a dam intake, its opened during day and closed at night. When intake is opened, water flows downward into reversible turbine with extreme pressure. This pressure operates the generator to produce electricity and at the end of this flow, water reaches low-level reservoir. Power lines were used to transmit the electric current to national grid.
During night time, water from low-level reservoir sent to high-level to reuse the water for next day. Reversible turbines again used in anti-clock direction to suck water from low level reservoir and pump water into high-level through same channel.
Overall, electricity generation involves five main processes that include storing water in a high-level dam, release water, generate electricity using water flow, power transmission, and reverse pumping of water from low to the high-level dam.

Secondly, during the daytime, water is released through an intake, the down stream of water current passes through a turbine in a power station where electricity is generated. In the fourth step, the electric current is then transferred to the national grid using power lines. In the end, water is channeled to another low-level reservoir.
The second main process in electricity generation is to send the water back to a high-level reservoir. This reverse process happens during nighttime. For pumping the water from low to high levels, reversible turbines were used at nighttime, this turbine act as a generator during the day.
