The diagram illustrates the process by which geothermal power is used to generate electricity Looking at the chart, there are five steps in the process, starting from pumping cold water down to producing electricity which is then transferred to the electrical grid. The first step is that cold water is pumped 4. 5 km underground through the injection well. The next step is that the water flows through the geothermal zone, where it is heated by hot rocks as it passes through the Earth. Following this, once the water has been heated up, it arrives in the production well and then is pumped up into the condenser, which is located on the ground. The last two steps take place. First of all, steam is produced from the hot water in the condenser. In the following step, the steam passes into a chamber and makes the turbine spin. Finally, the generator, which is powered by the turbine, produces electricity and it is then sent into the electric grid via power lines.
