The process diagram elucidates the different steps involved in the manufacturing process of bricks in certain factory. An overall observation of the diagram reflects that there are seven different steps involved in the manufacturing of bricks starting form procurement of the clay to the final delivery of the product. First, the raw material (Clay) is procured from the earth with the help of a mechanical digger, and then the procured clay is further passed through a screening process, where a metal grid is used as screener to obtain the fine particles of clay, which is further spread on a roller. Following that a soft mixture of clay is obtained by adding sand and water, which will give proper strength to clay. Furthermore, moulding is done either by the use of a wire cutter or by using a rectangular mould. In the next stage, the raw bricks undergoes a drying process, where they are placed in a drying oven for a period of 24–48 hours. Once the bricks are properly dried, they are further baked in a kiln, Firstly at a moderate temperature of 200°C-980°C, thereafter the temperature is augmented to 870°C- 1300°C. Then, the baked bricks are transported in a cooling chamber for a duration of 48-72 hours. Now for the penultimate stage, the cooled bricks are sent for packaging. Finally the final product obtained is further sent for the delivery to the customers.
