The given maps compare the transformations, which occurred in a coastal town, Portland, between 1950 and 2007. From the overall analysis, it is manifest that the coastal town underwent significant changes over the period with the given introduction of new facilities. To begin with, in 1950, there was a straight main road which had two sides, one to the west side and other to the east side. The left road led to an industrial area, whereas right road led to the car park. Moreover, the rest of the area was mainly grassland. Moving further, 57 years later, the sea was developed as a Yacht Marina, covered by newly built road which was attached with the main road. Meanwhile, the industrial area on the left side was replaced by a park, swimming pool and multi-storey car park. There was a new road constructed on the west side.
