The diagram below shows how much British households spent on holidays in the UK and abroad in 2002 7Wran
The bar chart gives information about the amount of money that British families allocated for domestic and international vacations according to five age groups in 2002. Overall, the year 2002 experienced a dramatic expenditure on overseas holidays compared to national ones. Another significant feature is that there was no major difference in tourism spending for these two areas among people aged 75 and over. As for travelling abroad, the 50-64 age group paid the highest amount of money, around 750 pounds. This figure was followed by nearly 650 pounds spent by 30-49 age group. The international tourism expenditures of under 30 and 65-74 age groups were nearly equal, approximately 600 pounds. The 75 and over age group ran last with spending of only 150 pounds. Compared to holiday abroad, the amount of money for domestic tourism was less, all under 250 pounds. The 65-74 and under 30 age group spent respectively one third and one-tenth. For all the remaining groups were the same, around 150 pounds.
