The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant

The given diagram of hydroelectric power station illustrates a detailed process through which electricity is generated. All in all, although electric energy is generated in a single power station, the intake of water is through low and high level reservoirs however, the flow of water is allowed at different parts of the day. Firstly, the river water flows into a dam and the gates of the dam are opened only during the day time secondly, on the contrary, one more source of water for hydroelectric generation is low-level reservoir where the water is allowed only during the nights. Mainly, once the water from both the sources are collected is then made to flow to the heart of the power generation mechanism "Power Station". Flow of water into the power station is monitored by reversible turbines that operates as generators during the day and acts as a pump to push the water back into the high-level reservoir during the night. The second component in the power station is, the generator which generate hydro energy and passes on to the cities and towns through power lines followed by national grid.
