The Development of Dubai from 1990 to 2020 ORdJk
The contrasting images illustrate how the construction of new buildings and roads can change the landscape of Dubai over a 30-year period, from 1990 to 2020. Overall, there was a major change in the atmosphere of this city in a span of 30 years. It is clear that Dubai has been transformed into a modern part of the country compared to what it was three decades ago. Firstly, the majority of their citizens lived in huts and travelled through primitive roads and deserts during the 20th century. Therefore, there were mostly shacks with only a few, dull buildings that stood in 1990, while in the year 2020, a lot of modifications took place and tall commercial buildings were developed to vitalize the city and replace the barren lands. Moreover, skyscrapers were built to add the city’s attractions. In addition to that, many large roads and flyovers were constructed to facilitate the growing number of transportation. As a result, these changes have led to a modernized place that we see nowadays. To conclude, the transformations that occurred in Dubai have had an impact on its outlook. Its new routes and modified constructions have made it a considerably more modern area than before.
