The charts below show what UK graduate and postgraduate students who did not go into full-time work did after leaving college in 2008.

The bar charts demonstrate that the work situations of graduate and postgraduate students after leaving college except for students who make full-time jobs in 2008. Overall, the number of students who make further study had the most amount while students who were in voluntary work showed the lowest numbers for both graduates and postgraduates in 2008. Besides, it was observed that the total number of graduate students was more than almost ten times compared with postgraduates’ students. In terms of destination of graduates, Further study was nearly 30, 000, although voluntary work number happened with 3500 which was approximately ten percent of further study. At the same time figure of students who make part-time work and unemployment were roughly similar just over 16, 000 and 17, 000 respectively. When looking at the postgraduate students’ destinations, while students who make further study had the highest numbers with 2725, the figure of part-time work just stayed down from it by almost 200 students. The amount of unemployment was seen just under the half of further study with 1625.
