The charts illustrate the percentage of various nutrients such as sodium, saturated fat, and added sugar consumed by an average person in the USA per meal and snacks every day. If had in excess, these nutrients can prove to be detrimental to health. Overall sodium and saturated fat are mostly ingested at night during dinner time, whereas absorption of added sugar is maximum while having snacks. These three nutrients are least found in breakfast meals with sodium being slightly less than the other two in percentage. During dinner time, the consumption of sodium is a little under 50%. As with saturated fats, 37% of this nutrient is absorbed which is approximately one-twentieth less than the consumption of former nutrient. 42% of added sugar is found in snacks, making it the most ingested nutrient in the evening. Absorption of all 3 nutrients is under 20% at breakfast time. The three nutrients are found in moderate amounts in lunchtime meals with sodium being the highest at 29% and added sugar being the lowest at 19%. All in all, the first meal of the day is the most nutritious constituting almost half of all three nutrients whereas dinner repast is greatly unwholesome with the meal consisting of more than a hundred percent of these nutrients combined.
