The pie diagrams show the proportion of water used for various needs by the people belonged to different continents such as South America, North America, Europe, Africa and central Asia.
Overall, the need for water usage is classified in to three sectors such as industrial use, agricultural use and for domestic usage. The usage of water for agriculture purpose is in large quantity in South America, Africa, central Asia and Europe whereas in North America and Europe the water is mainly used for industrial purpose. The percentage of water consumed and used for domestic purpose is less compared to other two reasons.
Among all the six places, four parts of the world such as South America, Africa, central Asia and south East Asia used 80% of its water resource for the activities related to the cultivation and harvesting process of crops whereas in North America and Europe the water supplied for agriculture was less than 40%.
On the other hand North America and Europe used 48% and 53% of its water resource for production purpose where less than 10% of total proportion of water was used by the people in remaining places for factory work.
Next, the very less quantity of water constituted for domestic usage. Compared to all the places South America has the highest percentage of 19% of water used for daily purpose. Next to this Europe and North America used 15% and 13% of water whereas other three continents consumed less than 10% of water for their daily needs.
