The chart below shows the total number of minutes of telephone calls in the UK, divided into three categories, from 1995-2002

This chart demonstrates overall length of phone call in UK, divided into three groups depending on whether the call was on a fixed telephone line or a mobile and calls nationality, between years 1995 and 2002. Units are in billions of minutes. Overally, it is clear to see that total duration of mobile calls has been increased immensely in this period of time. In 1995 and 2002 there were less than 5 and approximately 45 billion minutes of mobile calls respectively which is a clear increase. Similary, total national and international calls, which were connected via a fixed line, have been almost doubled up from around 35 to more than 60 billion minutes, between the mentioned years. However, the major category of calls were fixed line local calls among all of these years. The chart also shows a correlation between growth of mobile calls and decrease in local fixed line calls. in the interval of 1999 to 2002 mobile calls faced an outstanding growth as opposte to decrease of local calls dialed from a fixed telephone line.
