Looking at the diagrams, the only striking parallel between the two pictures is about the clock tower in the middle of the roundabout, which has never been renovated, then there the remarkable resemblance ends. Nevertheless, we can distinguish many substantial discrepancies. For instance, the upper side of the traffic circle was mostly covered with sand, furthermore, a bungalow and just a few apartment blocks existed there. Afterward, those structures were demolished and have been replaced with numerous skyscrapers and large condominiums. Also, the roads have become more congested as a result of housing development. What is more, all rows of trees around the area were uprooted. However, the clock tower has been hemmed in by many new Pine trees. To sum up, Dubai has become a more residential and modern city due to the construction, thus a dramatic number of people have settled there.
