The chart below shows the percentage of households in owned and rented accomodation in England and Wales between 1918 and 2011. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant

The bar chart gives information about the rate of households owning and renting accommodation in two countries (England and Wales) from 1918 to 2011. Overall, the percentage of households in owned housing was in increasing trend whereas, the rate of households in rented accommodation was in decreasing trend over the period given. Also both the accommodation facilities remained same in the year 1971. To begin with, in the year 1918 the rate of households in rented accommodation was about 80%, which is highest as compared to the in owned accommodation, which is only about 20%. Moving further the percentage of in owned household accommodation in the year 2001 is higher than the household in rented accommodation in the same year. Furthermore, the percentage of houses in owned resident increased from 1918 to 2001 whereas, the percentage of houses in rented decreased for the same period in England and Wales. Both the types of accommodation remained static in the year 1971, which was 50%. Additionally, in the year 2011 the households in owned and households in rented accommodation was 75% and 40% respectively.
