The chart below shows the number of trips made by children in one country in 1990 and 2010 to travel to and from school using different modes of transport. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant

The bar chart compares the number of trips students took to and from school using 5 different modes in 1990 and 2010. It can be seen that in 1990 most number of trips students took by walk while this changed in 2010 when most of the students used car as a mode of transport to and from school. In 2010, use of car as a mode of trasport is increased while all other decreased. In 1990, nearly same number of trips made by children by using cycling, walking and bus and bus while this number decreased in 2010. In 1990, just above 4 million students made their trip to travel to and from school using car passenger while this figure dramaticaly increased in 2010 and reached upto nearly 11 millions. On the other hand, the number of students who used walking as a mode of transport from and to school decreased from above 12 millions to just 6 millions till 2010.
