The chart below shows the number of men and women in further education in Britain in three periods and whether they were studying full-time or part-time. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart illustrates the number of men and women engaged in further education in three periods. It shows whether they were into full-time or part-time education. In 1970-1990, most people (regardless of gender) were more interested in part-time than full-time education. However, steady growth is only evident with females which had continuously increased over the years with more or less half a thousand gap in 1970 -1990. As for men, the count had fluctuated from its all-time high (in three periods) of 1000 in 1970 to about 850 in 1980/81. With reference to the latter further education, takers had progressed over the years since the early period. A significant increase is noticeable in females between 1970 and 1980, on the contrary there was not much growth in the succeeding period. In the latter period, you would see that women outnumbered men involved in part-time education while, there was no significant difference in those who took full-time education.
