The bar chart shows the share of poverty of the rural areas in the years 1993 and 2002. The pie chart shows the rural area share and the urban area share of poverty in 2002. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart illustrates about the Rural share of poverty in 1993 and 2002 and the pie chart shows the share of poverty of urban and rural areas in year 2002. As we can see, in East Asia and Pacific the rural share of poverty in both the years is equal. That is 90% of population is living in rural areas. In Europe and Central Asia the percentage of people living in rural areas has been increased from 1993 to 2002. In the other parts it has been decreased from 1993 to 2002. In 1993, the highest percent of people living in rural areas is in East Asia and Pacific which is 90% where as the lowest is in Europe and Central Asia which is 50%. In 2002, East Asia and Pacific has the highest percentage of people living in rural areas with 90% and Latin America and Caribbean is the lowest with 40%. Also overall in 2002, the rural area share of poverty is 76% and the urban area was 24%. In conclusion we can say that rural area share of poverty is more compared to the urban area share of poverty and in most of the places rural area share of poverty has been decreasing as the time passes.
