It is clear that while Netball is the most popular sport with women, Soccer is most popular with men. By contrast, Netball is the sport that is least interested by men and Cricket is the one with the fewest women playing. It is also notable that there was a enormous disparity between the percentage of men and women playing netball. In most sports, the percentage of men participating was greater than the percentage of women. In 2008, nearly 25% of men participated in Soccer, while this number of women was only 5%. Other sports took the second place, with 20% of men, twice as many as women (10%). Meanwhile, 10% of men played Cricket, which was a lot higher than 2% of women. And the number of men joining Table tennis was only slightly less with about 8%. Looking at the other sports, Netball was the most common sport in England in 2008 with females. There were 25% of females playing Netball, compared with about more than 1% for males. The second sport that many women participated in was swimming. This sport had a large disparity in the percentage of women and men participating, with 23% of women and 14% of men. Whereas, the figure for tennis and basketball were quite similar for both sexes at around 6-7%. And Jogging is the least popular sport of both, only around 3%.
