The bar chart illustrates anticipated world literacy percentage by region and by sex for over the 2000. Overall, the female's literacy rates in three regions such as South Asia, Arab states and sub-saharan Africa had the highest rate. While the percentage either of female and male in other regions experienced the lowest proportion in 2000. From the bar chart l, it is clear that female literacy was higher than men especially in sub-saharan Africa, Arab states and south Asia areas and it was nearly half. whereas in the remaining three areas the literacy proportion was exactly 20% in East Asia and the rate of Latin America and developed countries was about 11% and 3% respectively. By contrast, the figure for men was lower than women in average. In sub-saharan, Arab states and South Asia regions were nearly 30%. Moreover, in developed countries the figure was under 5% and in comparison with other areas had the lowest percentage.
