The bar chart illustrates a country’s export earnings in 5 different fields (petroleum products, engineered goods, gems and jewellery, agricultural products, and textiles) for two consecutive years (2015 and 2016). Unit is measured in dollars.
Overall, it can be seen that the amount earned by the exports have increased in 2016 compared to 2015. The petroleum products accounts for the highest revenue in both the years, whereas textiles constitute for the least money earned.
Engineered goods and petroleum products witnessed a slight growth in 2016, by almost 5 and 2 billion dollars respectively. The third highest exported commodity was gems and jewellery but figures dropped from about 43 to 41 billion dollars in 2016. On the other hand, agricultural products observed a negligible increase compared to previous year, while exports of textiles rose the amount to over 30 billion dollars from over 25 billion dollars but still remains the least exported product.
The table represents the change in per cent of each type of exports in 2016 compared to previous year. It is evident that there was a dramatic increment in textiles export (15. 24%), followed by engineered goods with 8. 5 per cent rise. Furthermore, exports of petroleum products and agricultural products increased by almost one-third of the engineered goods and 0. 81% respectively. Coming to gems and jewellery, it is the only category which faced a fall in exports (- 5. 18%).
All in all, the data represents that even though there was a decline in earning and export of one product in 2016, there was a total significant rise in one country’s value.
