It is also noticeable that while petroleum products and engineered goods contributed the most to national export revenues, textiles saw the most significant percentage change despite being the lowest earner. The two top exports were petroleum products and engineered products. However, while the first category went up by 3%, from about $61 billion in 2015 to around $63 billion in 2016, the latter grew at a faster rate of 8. 5%, rising from nearly $58 billion to approximately $62 billion in the same time. The other exports had much lower figures. Gems and jewellery, the only export witnessing a drop, declined by 5. 18% from $43 billion in 2015 to around $41 billion in 2016.
