The bar chart illustrates the depletion of traffic accidents in Bridgewater by the introduction of of narrow roads on roads which had heavy traffic.
Overall, it can be seen that in every case, adding an extra lane on main roads had a positive effect on traffic incidents.
As is presented in the bar chart, before the new lanes were introduced, almost 15 vehicle accidents were occured on the m1 per kilometre, but, after the creation of lanes, the number of accidents were dropped to 5 per kilometre. While, m2 and m5 have had around 17 accidents per kilometre in roads which had rush of vehicles. However, after the introduction of new lanes, it showed decrease in crashing between automobiles in m2 (15) and m5 (7).
Moreover, on the M3 depicted only 4 traffic incidents and on the m4 approximately 5 accidents were occured. Although, after the formation of short roads, M3 showed half of the accidents which occurred before the formation of new lanes (2) and m4 witnessed only up to 2 traffic accidents per kilometre.
