The chart gives information about how many people in several age groups living alone in Great Britain in 2004/2005. Overall, as can be seen, there were considerable differences in the age groups of 75 and over, 65-74 and 25-44 with 75 and over the biggest one. Moreover, similarities could be seen in 45-64 and 16-25 age groups. Females aged 75 and over were twice as many as males in this group, females at around 58% and males at 28%. This was true of the age group of 65-74 in which there were nearly twice as many females (approximately 33%) as males (approximately 17%). However, people living alone in the age group of 25-44 were more males, at 16%, than females, at 8%. 16-24 and 45-64 age groups were more equally represented which were male-dominated. In 16-24 age group which was the smallest percentage had 5% of males living alone compared to only 4% of females.
