The data depicts the percentage of people in Great Britain who lived independently by age and gender during the period of 2004-2005. Overall, both sexes lived by themselves as they grow older and fewer teenagers to middle-aged females did than males, although this trend reversed as age increased. Looking at the graph, females aged 75 and over had the contribution of approximately 59% while the percentage for male was around 27%. Additionally, the 65-74 age group saw a similar trend as the percentage of alone females almost doubled compared to the percentage of alone males, which was about 32% and 17% respectively.
