The bar chart below gives information about the percentage of the population living in urban areas in different parts of the world. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The chart mentioned below illustrates the change in the population in urban areas. The statistics mentioned in the diagram are based on three years. An overview of the chart explains that there has been a gradual increase in the population shifting towards the urban areas of the world. 90% of the population is expected to live in urban areas of North America. However only 62 percentage of the population is expected to live in urban areas of Africa by 2050. The most populated continents by 2050 will be Europe, Caribbean and North America with 84 percentage, 89 percentage, and 90 percentage respectively. Africa and Asia were the least populated continents with 15 percentage and 17percentage respectively in 1950. Even though North America will be the most populous continent by 2050, it was equally populated with the Oceania in 1950. Even if the rate of shift in the population in these three years of Latin America is more than Oceania, it is more developed continent than others. Between North America was the most populous continent in 2007 with 79 percentage of the population living in its urban areas.
