The bar chart below illustrates the percentages of literacy people by men and women in 7 different areas in 2011. Overall, it is clear that Central Asia is the region which has highest amount of literacy people. Sub-Saharan Africa ranked last in literacy rate with 65% by male and nearly 50% by female, contrary to Central Asia with 100% by both male and female. Which also have equal percentages of literates as well as ranked second that is Central/Eastern Europe, by over 95%. There are 5 regions that show different literacy rates for men and women. The region has the biggest difference between 2 genders is South and West Asia with nearly 80% for men and about 60% for women.
