The The composite line graphs taken from the U. S. Bureau of labour statistics depicts how the mean yearly expenses of U. S. consumers on cell phones and residential phone services have changed from 2001 to 2010. Overall, the usage of cell phone services has shown a staggering increase over 10 years, with a proportionate decline in money spent on residential phone services. At the beginning of the 21st century, the expenditure on cell phones was just over 200$, the least amount spent in the decade. On the contrary, the wages used for residential phone services was maximum and stood at around 700$ per year. As the years passed on, the expenditure on residential phone services had shown a remarkable decline with an equal increase observed in the expenses on cell phones and became equal in 2006, with appropriately 550$ spent on both the services. Finally, in the year 2010, the expenses on residential phone services reached a trough with 400$ spent on the same, in contrast to cell phone services on which the largest sum of money was spent and was just over 700$.
