The 2 maps illustrate all the changes that took place in a neighborhood after the construction of a mall. Overall, it is evident that before the mall was constructed, the area was a lot greener and more country-like. Also, the size of the mall required more than half of the neighborhood's area. Before the construction, opposite Main Street, a book store and a shoe store were situated. The woods were located just behind those stores. Next to the woods, there was a beautifully built park around a lake. On the other side of Main Street was the residential area. The block directly next to Main Street included 4 houses. Likewise, Oak street had a similar block next to it with 4 homes. However, after the construction, most of the neighborhood's area is taken up by the mall. The book and shoe stores and the woods are replaced by a newly built shopping mall while a parking lot currently occupies the area where the park and lake were situated. Additionally, two of the houses on Main Street were demolished in order to make way for the enlarged parking lot whilst the block next to Oak Street was left untouched.
