Academic writing task 1 The pie chart compares five different categories of household expenditure in UK and New Zealand in the years 1980 and 2008. It is noticable that, there was a sharply decrease the category of food and drink in 2008. In 2008, household spents more money in recreation which was rose 34% and it was established a high proportion. In1980, 29% of an average New Zealands hoseholds budget went on food and drink, while the equivalent of UK. By 2008, expenditure of food and drink had fallen 4% in UK. At this time, there was a rise in utility bills 27% to 31%in New Zealand, 26% to 28% in UK. Leisure activities accounted the highest proportion in UK, which was 34%. Transport costs and other costs was an only roughly 15% and 10% household budgets respectively/
