The table illustrates the IELTS band score of the students from countries, namely Germany, France, Indonesia, and Malaysia who took their exams in 2010. Overall, the highest result in listening was achieved by the students from Germany, while Malay students got the least overall. Simultaneously, German students succeeded on average the highest overall among other students of different countries. The table shows that, German students are achieved the highest overall band score in three skills out of four, such as Listening, Writing and Speaking. The French candidates got the highest score in Speaking of 6. 9 out of 9 which is same with Malay students. However, their least score was in Reading of 6. 1 which is close to Indonesians. In general, French students are weaker in Listening and Reading skills comparing to the Germans. Writing is relatively scored high by German and French students. The Indonesians are in the second place after the Germans in Speaking.
