Overall, it is clear that food makes up the largest proportion of spending worldwide and more than a half of the world’s population live in Asia. We can see that expenditure on food makes up just under a quarter of the total globally, which can be considered as the largest proportion. In contrast, the least amount of money, 6%, id spent on clothing. Housing and transport account for 12% and 18% of the total share and the remaining two fifth of the money is spent on other unspecified categories. 57% of the world’s population live in Asia, while Europe and Americas share 14% of the total each.
