The chart illustrates information about average monthly spending by British households on ( utility bills, transport, rent, entertainment and groceries ) in three different periods. Overall, it can be seen that most major expenditure by British was on the rent in all three years, while groceries was average spending. On the other hand utility and entertainment were the lowest wasting in all periods. In terms of monthly expenditure, the rent was the major spending in 1990 at approxmately 440 pounds per a month, and the amount had increase in 2000 and 2010 to reach the peak at 600 pounds by 2010. Furthermore, groceries started at just over 300 pounds in 1990 and had increase slightly to reach nearly 340 pounds in 2010. Moreover. transport costing in 1990 was just under 200 pounds, while in 2000 it has increased at over 200 to reach the peak at around 250 in 2010. On the other hand utility and entertainment were the lowest costing in 1990 at under 100 pounds for utility and around 150 in 2010, when entertainment started at just over 100 in 1990 and still the same amount in 2000 and drop in 2010 to reach 100 pounds per a month.
