Music has always played an important role in our society. Many believe it contributes to uniting people of various cultural backgrounds and age. I agree with the statement mentioned above. Music has become an international language connecting people globally. While the favourite melody is played, there is no need to understand the lyrics to enjoy the whole musical experience. Classical music, for instance, even though singing in Italian, is performed in many opera houses in every part of the world and it becomes a significant value for its audience. Travelling, however, is another crucial issue that must be taken into consideration. Visiting various nations allows people to broaden their mind about the new cultures such as Spanish music and flamenco being a part of the tradition. Bollywood films, moreover, have become a landmark of Indian culture and have been watched by millions of viewers worldwide. It should be highlighted that music brings together old and young generations. Parents expose their children to different genres of old music by playing vinyl records, and thus, they reveal a part of history. Even though some artists such as Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse or Beatles would not perform the concert, their music will always be timeless, regardless of the age of the listener. Christmas carols are another example worth emphasizing. Christmas Eve is a significant period in a year, while the whole family is gathering around at the table, making wishes, singing and playing on the instruments. In conclusion, music continues to have a profound impact on people. Not only does it bring different cultures and age groups together, but it also helps communicate cross such barriers.
