Education is always a big issue in the world, recently people have been arguing whether schoolchildren should be taught factual information by tutors or they should widen their knowledge by doing research themselves. This essay will discuss both these important aspects of a quality education. On the one hand, training pupils about facts is no doubt one of the most necessary things that teachers should do. For example, in math, if one doesn’t know basic math knowledge such as multiplication tables, how can they do their exercises? It can probably affect their future because of their inability to calculate quickly. Moreover, teachers should educate students about the diversity of culture and history, avoiding culture shock, and building on their knowledge. On the other hand, while schooling factual knowledge, children should be learnt by practicing as study goes as a pair with practice. Presentation skills, for instance, can be learned through theories, however, to have a smooth lecture is not that easy, they need to practice it several times, sometimes it takes hundred times to be expert and confident. Furthermore, only when practicing, people can obtain some skills that cannot be told through word of mouth. In conclusion, many think that it is essential for scholars to learn facts and information teaching by educators, whereas others believe doing researches, and practicing skills is the best way of coaching students. From my perspective, one of the key factors in providing a rich and modern educational experience is balancing the teaching of knowledge and practical skills.
