Some argue that extra studies for home should not be given every day, whereas others believe that it is pivotal to do well at school. I agree with the former view because it prevents children from enjoying studies and creates stressful atmosphere.
Those who consider that daily homework leads to success argue that it ensures kids are revising and practicing what they have been taught in their class each day. In that way they will able to understand and grasp the concepts efficiently and be pre-prepared for the year-end assessments. For example, one of my friends' teacher used to ask to write math tables 5 times every day, this helped her memorize them to an extent that though she fell sick one day before the math exam, she was able to secure excellent grades due to the regular practice after school.
However, I believe home assignments should not be a mandate as that it over-burdens children with studies. These days, many children enroll for extra-curricular activities, such as dance, music, swimming, martial arts, etc. , which takes up all the time after school. On top of that, bombarding students with the extra assignments might be overwhelming. As a result, this might diminish the zeal to learn and they might start considering it as a task to be finished. According a recent survey in one of the New York's schools, 70% for fifth-graders claimed to be stressed because their over-boarded schedule including school, extra classes and homework leaves no time to relax and enjoy the life.
To conclude, in my opinion, tasks for home should not be given each day as it lead to the work-overload and learning no longer remains fun.
